Ayurveda Services

Ayurveda Medicine is a system of healing that has its roots in ancient India. In Sanskrit, Ayuh means life and veda means science or knowledge. Ayurveda Medicine is the study and practice of the Science of Life. As a Holistic Medicine, like Acupuncture, Ayurveda deals with disorders of the mind, body and spirit. Its purpose is to heal and maintain the quality and longevity of life.

In Ayurveda there are 3 Doshas called Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Doshas are basically your constitution. Even though we all have qualities that belong to all 3 Doshas, in Ayurveda your constitution commonly consists of a combination of 2 Doshas.

Click here for a self-check guide to determine your lifelong (Prakruti) dosha or your current (Vikruti) dosha imbalance.

Knowing your unique Dosha constitution can help you understand your strengths, emotional behavior, lifestyle habits and areas in your life that you have a tendency to struggle in.

Dinacarya (Telehealth)

Dinacarya means Daily Routine.

After a thorough evaluation, a personalized Dinacarya (daily routine) will be recommended. Diet and lifestyle suggestions will be given based on your Dosha, medical history and current lifestyle intake.

Evaluations are done partly via an online questionnaire and partly via a secure video call.

Follow Up Visits: Your Dinacarya will be reviewed and additions or changes made based on the current state of your Dosha. We will also dive deeper into your physical and emotional health.

Abhyanga

The Sanskrit term Sneha is translated to both “oil” and “love”. Giving yourself or having an oil massage given is really an act of self love.

A warm medicated oil specialized for your dosha is massaged into your body. Abhyanga calms the entire nervous system creating a tranquil space in your mind-body. It benefits your skin, sleep, mental activity, brings vigor to your dhatus (tissues), lubricates the joints, promotes rejuvenation of your internal organs and supports the elimination of toxins that are often stored in your soft tissue.

Basti

Sometimes known as Vasti or Vashti, which means “containing” or “dwelling”.

Please see descriptions below of individual Basti treatments.

Basti

A warm medicated oil is held in place with a dough ring for 30-40 minutes.

Each Basti treatment is followed by a gentle, warm medicated oil massage of the area unless otherwise noted. During the initial consultation it will be determined which Basti or therapy is right for you. These treatments can stand alone but have the best therapeutic results when given in a series of treatments.

Please Note: Some Ayurveda therapies have been suspended during COVID-19.
